Sarah + Ted // Wedding Highlights
I'm off to Virginia this weekend to film a wedding with Grant. But before I leave I wanted to share with you a wedding highlight from last week! Sarah and Ted got married at the beautiful chapel at St. Charles Catholic prep school. That is where Ted actually went to high school. It was a very hot day but these two kept their spirits (get it!?) high and endured through it and had an amazing wedding!
Sarah +Ted, thank you for letting me spend time with you and for standing the heat with me! Blessings on you both!

Flats because Sarah said she is tall. I secretly think its for comfort! =)
Wedding day beer! Time to celebrate!
It was a hot day so you gotta apply that deodorant!
Moments before walking down the aisle.
Lighting was quite hard in the chapel. I think we were both shooting at 2000-3200 ISO. It was quite dark!
Some of Sarah's family came all the way over from Japan! I always give my client's attendees an opportunity to take some photographs!
Yes that's right. I combined a color with a black and white.
Favorite photo from the set.
Since it was a hot day, I suggested we stop by Jenni's to cool off. Who can refuse ice cream =)
Sarah and Ted decided that instead of a cake they were going to have cookies instead. Tons and tons of cookies.
Nicole + Jake // Wedding Highlights
Nicole and Jake got married at their home church, Meadowpark, on a beautiful Friday afternoon. Their reception was held at the Worthington Hills Country Club.
I have known these two wonderful people since high school. Before they started dating we would all hang out during break in one of our classes. They actually started dating in that class! Awwww, high school sweethearts! To see this come full circle is probably why this is one of my favorite weddings of this season!
(side note: Nicole is also my hairstylist! She gives a mean haircut)
Nicole recently ran a half marathon and injured her hip. DESPITE being on crutches, she kept her spirits high, had a beautiful wedding and had an amazing day!
Nicole + Jake! Thank you for letting me be apart of your day. I had an amazing time documenting your day. God bless you both!

Katie + Sean // Wedding Highlight
I got to photograph my friends Sean and Katie's Wedding! Sean was my boss at Red Bull when I was working there. He works now at Team Challenge for Crohn's and Colitis. Amazing guy! The ceremony was set at the beautiful Franklin Park Conservatory. The reception was held at the Audubon Center. If you can recall I had photographed them earlier for their engagement session. Although it was cloudy/gloomy/cold/rainy that day, their spirits were on an all time high!
Katie and Sean: Thank you for letting me be a part of your day. It was an honor documenting your wedding. I had a blast! Blessings on you two! Yip Ya!!!
Beautiful.

The groomsmen were a rowdy/fun bunch.
Paul Woo is my second shooter for this season! He's great!
It was raining but luckily we were covered! The light in that place when it's cloudy is amazing!

Worried about the rain?
Nah!
The conservatory is known for their butterfly house so we made a quick pit stop in there to see if we could get a butterfly...we did!
Party bus!
Katie is a designer! Look at these amazing details! Those are hand cut leaves on the table cards. Amazing!
Catering was done by MASS APPEAL
Let me take yo picture!
Enter with a bang! This is why I encourage a second photographer for all weddings! If it weren't for Paul, the couple wouldn't have an awesome shot like this. I was located in the back to get a long shot, but none of them ended up working 0ut.
Helmut couldn't make it to the wedding, but he was there in spirit!
First dance.
Party time!
Here is a nice long exposure of the Audubon center!
At the request of the couple, we had a photobooth that was run by Paul. I normally don't run a photobooth, but I think it was a nice addition to the ceremony!
The reception was DJ'ed by DJ Easy Jake Oven (middle). Amazing DJ! I would recommend him for all weddings. He has some great taste in music.
Of course Paul and I had to hop in for a photograph.

Kina Grannis
She's sooo good! Went to Cleveland last week to attend a Kina Grannis show with some buddies. She's amazing live! The show was small but it didn't really matter because her voice is soo good. Got to meet her after the show at the meet and greet! I hugged her =)

Wang Family // Portraits
Before I left for my trip, I had the fortunate opportunity to photograph the Wang Family! They have been so kind to me taking me in and feeding me during the holidays since my family doesn't live around me anymore! So photographing them was a pretty fun time. I kept it short and simple, nothing to crazy. I just found some good light and placed them in front of it!
Started with some test shots to see where the light was falling and where I needed to put some light in.
some more test shots, missed focus =(
used a flash and shot it upward to reflect off the low ceiling. This created a nice soft, even, overhead softbox
You always have to throw the solemn pose in
Brothers goofing off
Put them at the edge of shadow where they light is just hitting the backs. (backlighting always wins)
