Wang Family // Portraits
Before I left for my trip, I had the fortunate opportunity to photograph the Wang Family! They have been so kind to me taking me in and feeding me during the holidays since my family doesn't live around me anymore! So photographing them was a pretty fun time. I kept it short and simple, nothing to crazy. I just found some good light and placed them in front of it!
Started with some test shots to see where the light was falling and where I needed to put some light in.
some more test shots, missed focus =(
used a flash and shot it upward to reflect off the low ceiling. This created a nice soft, even, overhead softbox
You always have to throw the solemn pose in
Brothers goofing off
Put them at the edge of shadow where they light is just hitting the backs. (backlighting always wins)
Meet Sarah + Ted // Engagement
Meet Sarah and Ted! Right as I sat down at the Starbucks we were meeting, I knew that this was a pretty cool couple! I think they have a really cool life story, especially how they met! I can't reveal too much, but let's just say they met through mutual friends who were dating but about to break up. They say that they don't photograph well. But after photographing them for their engagement session at Scioto Mile, I kind of don't believe them. I'll let you decide!
I wanted to do the shoot indoors since it's december and...really cold outside, but they convinced me to photograph them outside. Although it was cold, I think they were right to shoot it outside. I got some really good photographs! Thank you to my lovely assistant Paul Woo, who is currently in Kenya on a mission trip, I couldn't have done it without you.
Sometimes mid sentence photographs are pretty awesome
Huddle/Cuddle for warmth!
I rarely do silhouette photographs, but I snuck a couple in. I really like this one alot
You guys look pretty awesome in this one.
The bridge lights up at night with a whole bunch of LED's and this is the result. Some awesome photos!

In addition to the engagement session, they requested a design for a save the date! I had my good friend/designer Norman Ai do the design and he came up with this awesome Save the Date! They wanted to do a combined Christmas card and Save the Date. Good stuff!

Happy Thanksgiving
Hey all!
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! From my family to yours! We are currently in San Antonio where my parents just moved a couple of months ago! This is our first Thanksgiving together in the new house in a new place! Fun times.
I'm thankful for my family first and foremost. For their hard work and their dedication in what they do. I'm thankful for my close friends who have supported, encouraged, and backed me up in this past quarter. I'm thankful for a job and being able to take photographs. I'm thankful for being healthy and living.

April + Carl Engagement
Hey!
I was fortunate to be able to photograph my good friends April and Carl! We all go to the same church and at one time served on the same team for college group. Good times! Alright, enough bantering. We met at Inniswood Metro Garden in the late afternoon on a Saturday. I have done shoots there before so I knew that I had to capture them in a different way. Luckily (not really luck) I found some really cool spots that I haven't use previously. The light was perfect and the air had this crispness to it which made the photographs even better. April and Carl are a good looking couple so it was almost....too easy to get awesome photographs of them. They warmed up to the camera very easily. It was as if I wasn't even there!

I can't wait to photograph their wedding next year!

Katie + Sean: Engagement
A couple of weeks ago, I had the great opportunity to photograph my good friends katie and sean's engagement session. These guys are awesome! We first hit a downtown location then moved to german village and then finished up at the park of roses. It was a fun time. I'm gonna give them some respect for doing the session under some extreme heat. It was soooo hot!
some natural interaction
they look so good!
POW the ring!
They showed me this awesome cute little park that made for some awesome photographs
Their dog is named helmut. He is a really cool dog. This is one of the photos they requested and I'm glad that I was able to get it
All in all, I'm really happy how the photographs turned out. This is part 1 of the shoot. We have a really cool shoot coming up that has something to do with balloons. Stay tuned!
