Maggie + Ethan // Engagement

Engagement sessions are always fun to photograph. Not only do I get to explore the city and see new places, there is no rush and no urgency to finish a shoot, like a wedding. Instead, I can take my time with the couple, making sure that each location is thoroughly explored. It was a beautiful sunny day with surprisingly cool weather. Crazy right? Texas weather around this time is usually getting hotter, but we have been lucky to have some cooler days. I was lucky to be able to photograph Maggie and Ethan's engagement photographs the weekend after their proposal. I really enjoy being able document a couple's story as they move towards marriage. If you guys haven't seen Ethan's proposal, check it out here.

For Maggie and Ethan's engagement shoot, we started out at the Seminary, moved to Trinity Park, then the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, and finished at the Methodist church downtown and Melt's yellow wall. Maggie and Ethan were both so photogenic and were pretty awesome at following my posing directions.

After Trinity Park, we headed to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. Ethan was going to originally propose here. You can read more about that story heremaggie+ethan proposal-14

Meet Sarah + Ted // Engagement

Meet Sarah and Ted! Right as I sat down at the Starbucks we were meeting, I knew that this was a pretty cool couple! I think they have a really cool life story, especially how they met! I can't reveal too much, but let's just say they met through mutual friends who were dating but about to break up. They say that they don't photograph well. But after photographing them for their engagement session at Scioto Mile, I kind of don't believe them. I'll let you decide!

I wanted to do the shoot indoors since it's december and...really cold outside, but they convinced me to photograph them outside. Although it was cold, I think they were right to shoot it outside. I got some really good photographs! Thank you to my lovely assistant Paul Woo, who is currently in Kenya on a mission trip, I couldn't have done it without you.

Sometimes mid sentence photographs are pretty awesome

Huddle/Cuddle for warmth!

I rarely do silhouette photographs, but I snuck a couple in. I really like this one alot

You guys look pretty awesome in this one.

The bridge lights up at night with a whole bunch of LED's and this is the result. Some awesome photos!

In addition to the engagement session, they requested a design for a save the date! I had my good friend/designer Norman Ai do the design and he came up with this awesome Save the Date! They wanted to do a combined Christmas card and Save the Date. Good stuff!

April + Carl Engagement

Hey!

I was fortunate to be able to photograph my good friends April and Carl! We all go to the same church and at one time served on the same team for college group. Good times! Alright, enough bantering. We met at Inniswood Metro Garden in the late afternoon on a Saturday. I have done shoots there before so I knew that I had to capture them in a different way. Luckily (not really luck) I found some really cool spots that I haven't use previously. The light was perfect and the air had this crispness to it which made the photographs even better. April and Carl are a good looking couple so it was almost....too easy to get awesome photographs of them. They warmed up to the camera very easily. It was as if I wasn't even there!

I can't wait to photograph their wedding next year!
