Quarter Update
This quarter has been going so fast! It's already week 5 and midterms are upon me! I've been handling this quarter pretty well to my standards. Been able to juggle school, photography, church, friends, and working out (by the grace of God). It's been really really really busy. I guess I'll give some things that I have been doing this quarter.
School: I'm taking two intense studio courses and a GEC(bio 101). The studio courses (studio lighting and large format photography) require a lot of my attention with 4-5 projects due in each class, one project ever 1-2 weeks, so i'm almost creatively drained..haha. The bio 101 class has an annoying 3 hour lab but it's necessary to graduate. In large format I have been working on just getting to know the camera and understanding what the limitations and what I can do with it. In lighting, i've been really just learning on what each technical term is and creatively using light in my images. I already know how to light things, mostly, but now it's just how to subtly use in my work. From now on it's going to be non-stop work work work.
Photography: I've haven't been shooting personally this quarter, but I have been working with Red Bull. I had my first editorial shoot ever which was really awesome, you go read about it here. I have a couple of ideas that I want to do with Red Bull but I don't think we will get to it until the Summer. Next week I will be photographing Red Bull Chariot Race, which will be pretty fun. As of currently, I will be photographing 2 weddings this summer. I wish I was photographing more, but it's whatever.
Church: Church is really busy as usual, spring retreat is coming up and that means a huge amount of practices coming up. I've been teaching a guitar class this quarter, and so far they have learned the G chord progression and the E chord progression and transitioning between the progressions. I'm happy that they are learning and that there might be future worship leaders in the bunch...hehe. Still doing children's worship and college worship and sunday worship. All in all, it's fun but busy.
I'll leave you with a picture that I shot this past week of my good friend Norman. I was shooting a technical assignment and he was my model and he mentioned that he needed a new facebook profile. So I set up a quick one light situation with an umbrella. He's looks so gooood...lol
